Sports

Darul Ulum College of Victoria is part of Sporting Schools, an Australian Government programme. Sporting Schools provides our primary school students with the opportunity to access sport-based activities before, during or after school.

Sporting Schools programme will complement Darul Ulum College’s existing PE curriculum, allowing our students to explore a range of dynamic sports, from tennis to basketball, athletics to soccer. Sporting Schools will help us work more closely with sporting clubs in our community and tap into the large pool of talented sports coaches in the Moreland Community.

Bachar Houli Cup

The Bachar Houli Cup Australian Football competition is also a yearly event that began in 2012, and Darul Ulum College has been a yearly participant of this event, garnering many 2nd and 3rd places over the years. To expose students to more inter-school competitions, the P.E Department organises friendly matches with other schools in games such as soccer, and basketball in the near future.

After School Sport

The PE/Health department’s goal has been to conduct after school sports sessions on Mondays and Thursdays during term 2. Students are given the opportunity to build their skills in basketball. Students have been attending these after school sessions enthusiastically and have been playing basketball to make their game play stronger.

The PE/Health department plans to continue to run these after school sports sessions in term 3 on Mondays and Thursdays; focusing either on soccer or volleyball.

Interschool Sport

Over the years, Darul Ulum College has gradually grown in its level of participation at school-level competitions. Darul Ulum College has been participating in the Inter-Islamic Schools Futsal Tournaments with great success, achieving a top-6 finish since its inception, and winning the competition in 2014.
