The Year 8C and 8A had an incursion early October from the Refugee Council of Australia whereby two guest speakers gave a face to face presentation as part of the English curriculum with the focus on persuasive text. The students were able to develop a greater understanding of the current issues and hardships experienced by refugees today in Australia. It was definitely a great success and a meaningful experience as many students were able to learn about Lizzy’s story as a refugee from South Sudan.
